Last Man Standing is the soccer office game: the same idea as an American survivor or eliminator pool, with one twist that changes everything. In soccer a draw is a normal result, and in Last Man Standing a draw knocks you out just like a loss. Every matchweek you need a club that actually wins, and you can never use that club again, so the safe picks run out long before the season does.
Why it is the office favourite
Every match matters
A league table only cares about the top and the bottom. In Last Man Standing the mid-table fixture you would have ignored is the one deciding whether half the office is still in.
Simple to join, hard to win
One pick a week and one rule to remember. The draw is what makes it brutal: in soccer it happens in a quarter of matches, and it knocks you out just like a loss.
It runs itself
The fixtures load by matchweek, picks lock at the first kickoff, and every result grades itself from live scores. You set it up once and watch.

Set the rules
A draw knocks you out by default (the usual rule; you can switch it off). Choose one entry or several per person, and whether people get a second life.

Players join and pick a club to win this matchweek. A club they have used is greyed out, and picks can stay hidden until the round locks so nobody copies.
Let it score itself
Each matchweek locks at its first kickoff and grades itself from live results: a win survives, a draw or a loss is out. A match postponed out of its round does not count for that week.
Why the favourites are not enough
The obvious plan is to take the strongest club at home every week. The trouble is that there are only a handful of them, and each can be used once. Spend them all in the first month and by winter you are picking mid-table sides away from home.
The draw is the second trap. A favourite that wins most of its games still draws a good share of them, and a draw is as fatal as a loss. Good entries look for the mismatch, not the big name, and map their picks a few matchweeks ahead.
And watch the field. When most of the pool is on the same club, one draw empties it, so the winning move is often a slightly riskier pick that nobody else made.
