It shows up straight away as pending, then becomes spendable after a short hold in case the purchase is refunded.

Is it cash?
No — it’s account credit toward your own ChooseASquare purchases: a Contest Pass, an add-on, or a plan. It can’t be withdrawn.
Do I have to be a paying customer?
No. Anyone with a ChooseASquare account can refer, including free accounts.
When do I get it?
When the person you referred pays for their first contest. It appears immediately as pending and becomes spendable after a short hold that covers the refund window.
What if they get a refund?
The credit is reversed. If we later win a chargeback dispute, it comes back.
How long does my link last?
Someone who follows it is attributed to you for 90 days, and an account can only ever be referred once.
