NFL Season Squares Calculator

An NFL season squares pool charges a small amount per square per week rather than one lump sum, and every game on the slate pays out — fifteen or so games a week for the whole regular season and into the playoffs. It keeps a pool alive from September to February for a few dollars a week. This works out the weekly pot, the season gross and what the organiser keeps at whatever cut you set.

Questions people ask

Why charge weekly instead of once?

A $5 weekly square is an easier sell than a $110 season square, and people who join late can still buy in. The total is the same; the ask is far smaller each time.

Does every game pay out?

That is the usual shape — each game on the week's slate pays its own winner, which is why a weekly pot spreads across so many people.

What is a fair organiser cut?

For a fundraiser, 20–40% is normal and worth stating plainly on the sign-up. Players are far more relaxed about a cut they were told about than one they work out later.
