How this bracket works

2026 is the 12-team bracket: four Wild Card Series, with the top two seeds in each league skipping the round on a bye.

This is not a picture of a bracket. It is built from the same postseason schedule and series results our bracket pools score from, so it is right the morning after a series clinches, and the blank version is the same sheet with the winners taken out. Every other printable MLB bracket we could find is a PDF somebody exported in September from projected seeds: one still had the wrong teams in the Wild Card round on the day the World Series started.

It prints landscape on a single sheet, with no site navigation, no form and no browser header, because the page margins are set to zero and the sheet carries its own. American League on the left, National League on the right, the World Series in the middle, which is how the bracket is always drawn.

We do not print seed numbers. Neither the league schedule nor our own records carry a seed, and we would rather leave a number off a sheet you are going to pin to a wall than invent one. What is shown instead is real: the club that hosted Game 1 is on the top line of its matchup, which is the same ordering the live bracket on our MLB playoff bracket page uses.

Questions people ask

How do I print the World Series bracket?

Press "Print this bracket" and print it. The bracket is laid out landscape on a single page and prints on its own: the navigation, the buttons and the rest of the page are left off, and because the page margin is zero your browser will not add its own URL-and-date header either. Nothing to install, no account, no watermark.

Can I print every game and its score as well?

Yes, and it is on by default. "Every game" under the bracket lists each series in the order it was played, with both scores for every game and the home team listed second, the way a box score reads. It prints after the bracket, starting on a fresh page so the bracket keeps its single sheet. Switch it off if you only want the bracket, and it is switched off automatically on a blank sheet.

Can I get a blank World Series bracket to fill in?

Yes. Switch to "Blank to fill in" and print that. The matchups that are already known stay on the sheet so you are not writing out team names, and every score and winner is removed so there is somewhere to write. It is the same bracket, so the boxes line up with what actually happens.

How does the MLB playoff bracket work?

Twelve teams reach the postseason, six in each league. The top two seeds in each league get a bye straight to the Division Series; the other four play a best-of-three Wild Card Series, 3 against 6 and 4 against 5, at the higher seed’s park. Division Series are best-of-five, and the Championship Series and World Series are best-of-seven.

Is this the real bracket or a projection?

The real one. It is drawn from the actual postseason schedule and the actual series results, and it refreshes through the day rather than when somebody remembers to update it. Where a round has not been set yet, the slot says "To be decided" instead of guessing at it.

Can I print a World Series bracket from a past season?

Every one of them, back to the first in 1903. There is a page per season below, each drawn the way that postseason was actually structured. That matters more than it sounds: before 1969 the World Series was the entire postseason, the Championship Series arrived in 1969, the Division Series in 1995, and 1904 and 1994 have no bracket at all because no World Series was played.

Can I run a pool off this bracket?

This sheet is for following along by hand. If you want people to pick who advances, that is a Bracket pool: it is built from the real postseason schedule, everybody fills in their own bracket, and it scores itself as each series clinches. World Series squares are the other popular one: a grid per game with the same squares all series.

Every World Series bracket, 1903 to 2026

One printable bracket per season, drawn the way that October actually ran: just the two pennant winners before 1969, the Championship Series from 1969, the Division Series from 1995, and the twelve-team bracket we have now.

Want the pool, not just the paper?

A printed bracket is for following along. If you want everybody in your office or group to pick who advances, a Bracket pool builds itself from the real postseason schedule and scores every entry as each series clinches. Or run the live MLB playoff bracket and see where a pool would start today.
